BC Place ? Major Overhaul

In 2008, the BC Provincial Government decided to perform a major overhaul of BC Place, which had been one of the largest air-supported stadiums in the world. The building, which seats 60,000 people was used to host the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The building has 247,000 square feet of exhibit space and is used as a major sports venue.

The roof was deflated in May 2010 for the last time and replaced with a new retractable roof. Major interior upgrades were carried out at the same time. Western Mechanical Services was entrusted to carry out the mechanical, life safety and electrical lighting system commissioning services to ensure and verify that all systems were performing as per design requirements.
